We are looking for volunteers to participate in a drug treatment study. We aim to see how well a drug (Nuedexta®) works at treating people with Huntington’s Disease (HD) gene and irritability. Participants will be asked to take the drug for a period of 6 weeks and placebo for another 6 weeks. Nuedexta® has already been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2010 to treat pseudobulbar affect or exaggerated emotional expression incongruent to mood due to an underlying brain disorder.
Are you eligible:
- 18 -75 years old
- Verified Huntington’s Disease mutation carrie
- Irritable as diagnosed by Irritability scale with a score > 14
- Must be able to consent
- Not pregnant or nursing
Time: 13 weeks with 3-4 visits and 2 phone interviews
